A Vintage Turnidge of London Freestanding Cocktail/ Bureau Cabinet

Sorry, this item has sold.

A rare, lovely, mid century cocktail cabinet by British manufacturers Turnidge of London Limited, circa 1960s. Turnidge of London was a niche British maker in the 1960s and 1970s not making the obvious dining room or bedroom furniture, instead they seem to have carved out a niche making bars, display cabinets and bookcases.

This solid teak freestanding piece comes in two parts so whilst quite tall, it’s easily transportable, perhaps where access is restricted in the modern home.

The top cabinet offers a large shelved internal area with all three shelves adjustable or removable. Below is a pull down door that serves as a cocktail bar or desk space, this area is lit and has a mirrored back. The internal light is fully operational but would require further testing by a qualified electrician for safety as a this is a vintage light.

The base unit features one cupboard which contains an adjustable shelf and is deeper.

This useful multifunctional cabinet offers that great Danish style and fits perfectly and practically into the homes of the modern collector of vintage furniture. A solid teak frame with teak wooden handles, all moving parts working as they should and with very little wear and tear.
