Compact Vintage Schreiber Chest of Three Drawers with Vanity Mirror

There are lots of reason to consider a Vintage Schreiber chest of drawers. New chests of drawers can often be mass-produced and do not have the history or the features of these vintage originals. By opting for a vintage piece, you can add character and charm to any room in your home.

This is a great set of drawers, compact and versatile; a warm teak colouring to the veneers and fabulous recessed retro draw handles, with three clean drawers that run smoothly and standing on great cigar shaped legs. This piece has retained its original mirror which has only some fogging but no cracks or chips. The mirror lifts off and the support bars can also be removed. On the back of the mirror we have added a chain, so it can be hung separately.

This piece shows no recognisable branding there are however strong similarities to the Schreiber brand- firstly the choice of materials, the handles and the overall shape of the set of drawers, the cigar legs and the rounded drawer backs ( steam bent plywood).

My guess is it’s SCHREIBER!

This piece does show signs of use and wear in the form of scratches and scuffs - please see the photos as we feel these form an important part of our description. The worst of the damage is a small chip to the handle on the bottom left drawer.

Schreiber began its success story in 1957 and it took no time at all for the brand to start competing with the established companies within the furniture industry. The company’s chests of drawers, aimed at the bedroom furniture market, were a superb example of the quality for which they became known.

Schreiber chests of drawers have been certainly stood the test of time. Whilst Schreiber is no longer an independent company, buying a piece by this heritage brand promises you a little slice of history. You can own one of the items produced when the business was leading the design movement in the UK.

Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
 
Where possible, we would prefer to hand deliver, either by ourselves or via our dedicated courier. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. Grouping these deliveries together, which both saves you cost and also benefits the environment, you should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window.
 
We offer free delivery on some items within 15 miles of Cambridge and also throughout mainland UK on some items advertised. Where free delivery applies, it is most likely to be hand or courier delivered, so expect it to be between 1 and 3 weeks.
 
Our minimum packaging and delivery cost is £30; larger, heavier, or multiple items, or for outreaching areas of the UK, are likely to be significantly more expensive. For multiple purchases, we will happily discount.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
