MCM Schreiber Round Drop Leaf Teak Formica Table

This large but compact drop leaf kitchen/dining table is a great example of furniture from the 20th Century produced by British Manufacturer Schreiber and still retains its label proving authenticity. A quality, affordable MCM antique, in great vintage condition with that trending Scandinavian style, a wipe clean surface so safe and practical for the children to use; for home schooling as well as family mealtimes.

The condition of this kitchen/dining table is very good with only light surface scratches and a few small minor blemishes ( our photos highlight the worst of these flaws), there is a 1 cm chip to the underside of the table but this is not visible from the top. The spring mechanism functions as it should and the extra leaves provide sturdy extra table top space to entertain, dine or work and when not required can be folded away. A large metal hinge runs the full length of each leaf securely attaching it to the main body of the table. Whilst this may only be a formica top the quality of the grain detail is superb and clearly the durability of this Schreiber table has proved it to be well made as its most likely from the 1970 era.

A bit about the manufacturer: -
Schreiber furniture was founded in 1957 with its headquarters in Milton Keynes, it was extremely successful brand in furniture manufacturing from the 1960s to the early 70s challenging its other competitors at the time (Lebus and G plan). Schreiber, in its bid for domination, opened Schreiber Furniture Centres.
Always Mr Schreiber to his employees, he treated everyone equally and had a strong sense of what was fair, he disliked bad manners and admired honesty; Schreiber was able to make good furniture cheaper than any other company.
Schreiber furniture can still be bought in retail shops today but more importantly, we can still purchase these original, modern day, collectible antiques!

Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
 
Where possible, we would prefer to hand deliver, either by ourselves or via our dedicated courier. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. Grouping these deliveries together, which both saves you cost and also benefits the environment, you should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window.
 
We offer free delivery on some items within 15 miles of Cambridge and also throughout mainland UK on some items advertised. Where free delivery applies, it is most likely to be hand or courier delivered, so expect it to be between 1 and 3 weeks.
 
Our minimum packaging and delivery cost is £30; larger, heavier, or multiple items, or for outreaching areas of the UK, are likely to be significantly more expensive. For multiple purchases, we will happily discount.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
