These chairs are one of Ercol’s classic mid century designs, matching ergonomic comfort with inimitable, minimal, style and beautiful solid wood. The distinctive spindles and hoop backs with the tapered splayed legs give these chairs a following which has only grown over the half century since they were created.

In great used vintage condition, these chairs are solid and sturdy, with obvious wear consummate with age.
We have cleaned and degreased both chairs and have then applied several coats of wood oil - this helps nourish and enhance the wood grain. They have clearly acquired scuffs and scratches over their lifetime, and have had numerous repairs - our joiner has checked these and has pinned in areas where he felt there was any weakness.
We are not sure what colour these two started out as, how old they might be or where they got their fabulous patina and colouring - but we love it! Both chairs have the utility stamp underneath, no Ercol paper badge but the studs for cushion pads are still intact under the seat.
These iconic elm dining chairs have stood the test of time and are now an investment antique for the future. Their subtle, yet exaggerated, shape and streamlined legs are so typical of the era and of the Ercol company itself; style and sophistication in perfect unison.
Designed by Luciano Ercolani, for his furniture company which was launched in England in 1920: Ercol is still using his designs and manufacturing new furniture today.
Please take time to look at the pictures carefully - we feel they are a good representation of the condition of the furniture; we have more photos, just message us if you have any questions or want to see more.
We have a number of Ercol dining chairs - make up your own eclectic set depending on your personal preferences; we are always happy to discount for multiple purchases!
Our Delivery Policy
Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
Where possible, we would prefer to hand deliver, either by ourselves or via our dedicated courier. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. Grouping these deliveries together, which both saves you cost and also benefits the environment, you should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window.
We offer free delivery on some items within 15 miles of Cambridge and also throughout mainland UK on some items advertised. Where free delivery applies, it is most likely to be hand or courier delivered, so expect it to be between 1 and 3 weeks.
Our minimum packaging and delivery cost is £30; larger, heavier, or multiple items, or for outreaching areas of the UK, are likely to be significantly more expensive. For multiple purchases, we will happily discount.
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
When ordering, please supply us with your email address and mobile phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as access, parking restrictions etc.).
Please note that if we are unable to deliver on a pre-arranged day, you will be charged the full delivery fee for re-delivery.
