No fashionable interior is fully dressed without a myriad of houseplants nowadays. Beautiful botanicals, in funky planters or cascading from the ceiling, are the look of the moment. And this is one trend that doesn’t look likely to fall out of favour any time soon — because as well as being super stylish, indoor plants can be the key to healthy living.
‘Houseplants have incredible healing powers,’ says horticulturist Fran Bailey. ‘They clean the air you breathe, help you get a good night’s sleep, reduce stress and boost your brain power. And looking after them can actually contribute to your mental wellbeing.’
With all that in mind this 60’s rare snake planter is simply divine and is bound to command the admiration of all who cross its path!
Given as a Wedding Present in the late 1960s, the 5ft high thick bamboo structure is elegantly curved to the shape of a snake’s slithering body and features a rattan wicker head with open mouth and tongue ( these are the bits that break or go missing). Set along the snake’s body are five original removable wicker planter baskets affixed by bent bamboo hoops; a bamboo tripod base gives the sculpture a strong sturdy base.
A great on-trend addition to lift any sparse corner of your home and very rare to find one in the style of a snake and in such immaculate condition, complete with all five original wicker baskets. Our photos form an important part of the item's descriptions - please look carefully and feel free to ask any questions before your purchase.
Measuring 125 cm tall, use this to create the impression of full-on-indoor jungle by using a variety of hanging plants and ferns or kitchen herbs, creating a rich depth of texture, height and colour.
Our Delivery Policy
Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
When ordering, please supply us with your mobile phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as access, parking restrictions etc.).
Please note that if we are unable to deliver on a pre-arranged day, you will be charged a flat fee of £50 for re-delivery.
