G Plan's Modular Corner Storage Unit From The "Brandon" Range in Light Oak

This corner piece is part of a modular set comprising of three pieces that can be arranged around your modern home space ( this set has all come from the same home, please see other listings for other pieces ). At some point holes have been made in the rear of the cabinet, presumably for cable access. Other than this, the unit is in excellent vintage condition - doors open and close easily, the top drawer runs freely, the original handles are in perfect condition and the maker’s label is present on the inside of the door. There is an inner fitted shelf to the cupboard.

This range of furniture was finished in light or mid oak and dark mahogany; light oak was the fashionable look in the early 50s, consequently today most surviving Brandon is in light oak.

Although the idea of modularity originated many years ago, it’s increasingly relevant in our cluttered and transient lives, and this furniture provides the perfect combination of stylish functionality and practicality, not just in your modern home but in each and every modern home you move to. Freestanding pieces can be used together ( with no fixings required ), in a variety of configurations or individually, allowing you to recycle ( in its oldest sense ) the furniture and its uses as you go through life.

The G-Plan brand was launched in the 50s. It defined modern furniture from the 50s to the 70s. In those days 'G-Plan' was a generic term for modern furniture in the way we still use 'Hoover' for vacuum cleaners. G-Plan was not cheap, but it was the brand most people aspired to own.

After many years of neglect, a new generation is discovering G-Plan again. Vintage pieces are commanding high prices. People are finding that furniture from the 50s and 60s and particularly G-Plan, was better made than most antique and modern furniture and looks stunning in a modern setting.

Where possible, we would prefer to hand deliver, either by ourselves or via our dedicated courier. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. Grouping these deliveries together, which both saves you cost and also benefits the environment, you should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window.
 
We offer free delivery on all items within 15 miles of Cambridge and also throughout mainland UK on some items advertised. Where free delivery applies, it is most likely to be hand or courier delivered, so expect it to be between 1 and 3 weeks.
 
Our minimum packaging and delivery cost is £25; larger, heavier, items are likely to be significantly more expensive. For multiple purchases, we will happily discount.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
