Six Vanson dining chairs

Vanson British furniture was produced by W G Evans & Sons and aimed at the high end of the market, with a focus on expertly crafted modernist design. British designer Peter Haywood was head of design and ensured the company remained at the cutting edge of contemporary design throughout the mid 20th century.

The chairs are pleasing on the eye - wonderful design, profile and form, coupled with high quality construction that only a true craftsman can deliver. The chair back spindles have a neat notched detail to the tops which adds a refined feel to them.

Having been through our workshop, all frames are firm with some repairs to joints having been carried out. Still with original upholstery in good condition, having had a gentle steam clean, the frames display minor wear and colour variations, the patina being consistent with age and use. We have cleaned, degreased and lightly sanded the frames, applying a protective coat of oil.

It’s rare to see such fine examples of Mid Century design and craftsmanship available as a set of six, each chair displaying the Vanson label confirming their authenticity.

These chairs are well made and combine stylish Mid Century looks with day to day practicality.
