Vintage G-Plan Style Librenza Bedside / Lamp Cupboard – Tola & Teak, Black Legs, Brass Details (1960s–70s)

A beautifully proportioned vintage mid-century cupboard, attributed to the G-Plan Librenza range, dating from the late 1950s–1970s. Compact yet highly versatile, this piece works equally well as a bedside cabinet, lamp table, end table or record player stand.

Crafted in warm tola (African mahogany) veneer with teak detailing, the cabinet is elevated on distinctive black ebonised tapering legs with brass adjustable feet, a defining feature of the Librenza aesthetic. The original brass horseshoe handle and matching brass shelf supports add a refined contrast and underline the quality of construction throughout.

The layout comprises an open shelf/cubby above and a single cupboard below. The internal shelf is completely removable, allowing the lower cabinet to accommodate 12” vinyl records, making this an ideal piece for modern living. A contemporary turntable sits comfortably on the top surface, offering a stylish and practical solution for compact spaces.

Although no G-Plan label or gold E Gomme stamp is present (these were typically used between 1952–1965 and are often missing on smaller units), the materials, fittings and construction strongly align with known Librenza designs.

A timeless British mid-century piece with Italian-influenced styling – elegant, functional and increasingly sought after.

Specific Condition of this piece:-

Very good vintage condition. The cabinet has been carefully cleaned and refreshed, presenting beautifully with a rich, warm tone. Minor age-related marks and signs of use are consistent with its age and do not detract from its overall appearance. The worst of any damage is a small chip to the base of the cabinet door (please check photos). Structurally sound, door aligns well and the removable shelf is present.

Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.

Wherever possible, we try to offer free kerbside delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window.

Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge.

Free delivery does not apply to locations a long way away from our location in Cambridge or to areas of mainland UK not routinely covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon as practicable after the sale goes through.

We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.

When ordering, please supply us with your mobile ‘phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as anything other than ground floor access, parking and access restrictions etc.). We reserve the right to charge for deliveries outside of our standard terms.
