The cane seat and backrest remain in good vintage condition with excellent tension; a few small breaks but these do not affect function or comfort. About the Designer and the Cesca Chair
Marcel Breuer, designer of the original Cesca chair, is celebrated as one of the founding figures of modernist design. His revolutionary use of a single, continuous steel tube created the first true cantilever chair — combining strength, flexibility, and visual lightness. Named “Cesca” after his daughter Francesca, the chair quickly became an icon of the Bauhaus era. With its clean lines, gentle curves, and mix of natural and industrial materials, it has remained a benchmark of 20th-century furniture design and continues to complement today’s interiors beautifully.

This particular style was retailed through Habitat during the 1970s, a period when mid-century modern aesthetics enjoyed a strong revival. Although unmarked, these examples are instantly recognisable and featured in several Habitat catalogues of that era.

Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
 
In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, kerbside to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
