G Plan Librenza Chest of 7 Drawers

This attractive and handsome mid-century chest of drawers is from the 1950s, designed by Victor Wilkins and manufactured by E. Gomme, the company that would become G Plan. The gold E Gomme stamp is still visible on the inside of the top drawer (this was used between 1952 and 1965).

This Chest of Seven Drawers is from the Librenza range, in Zebrano Teak, beautifully made with a fantastic striking finish. The original brass handles are all firmly intact, only displaying wear commensurate with age and use.

Tola (African mahogany) was much used at this time, and when polished has a lovely warm glow which contrasts nicely with the cabinet’s most distinctive feature, the black ebonised polished frame and legs (with brass adjustable feet).

Given it’s over 50 years old, it’s in excellent vintage condition throughout, with no detracting marks or deep scratches (please take care to look at the photos where you will see we have tried to highlight the worst of any obvious damage).

The dovetail drawers are clean, odour free and also run smoothly; the black leg frame contrasts with the leg caps and adjustable feet, made from pressed, spun, brass (unfortunately one of the top caps is missing, this is the back right but this is not that obvious).

Magnificent, versatile, stylish storage that epitomises the MCM era of fabulous, functional, design.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, kerbside to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.

We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
