The public’s love affair with Mid Century teak dining tables shows no sign of ending and why would it, with examples such as this ? If your house or apartment simply does not have the necessary space for a large table at all times, this vintage rectangular teak dining table gives you the perfect combination of space-saving design, beauty and durability. Seating 4 or even 6, or 2 when half up, perhaps against a wall, it would also make a great desk space or workstation.
Easily stored away, the gateleg table was first introduced in England in the 16th century. The table top has a fixed section and two hinged leaves, which, when not in use, fold down below the fixed section to hang vertically making this table a perfect choice for those with limited space.
Designed in the 1960’s by Victor B Wilkins, this formed part of G Plan’s well known “Fresco Collection“ of furniture.
The table is solid and sturdy and in good working order; it has been thoroughly degreased, lightly sanded, re oiled and polished. The red G Plan label is still present on the underside of the table.
The frame and legs are constructed from solid aframosia teak with beautiful grain detail. The top is teak veneer, again showing great grain detail, one of the best I have ever had in stock ! There are some light surface scratches but only what you might expect from normal wear and tear on a vintage table. Please take time to look at our photos as these form an important part of our description, usually highlighting the worst of any damage or flaws. If you would like further images or information please contact us and we will do our best to help.
