A Guildform 1950s Red Formica Drop Leaf Vintage Kitchen Dining Table Desk

A staple of many homes back in the Mid 20th Century, formica topped tables were practical, stylish and the smooth, glossy surface was designed for easy cleaning. They came in many sizes, patterns and colours, instantly transforming any dull kitchen/dining space.

So if your house or apartment simply does not have the necessary space for a large table at all times, then this compact retro red extending formica kitchen/dining table gives you the perfect combination of space-saving design, beauty and durability.

The table frame, legs and supports are made from hardwood, probably beech. These have been lightly sanded and re oiled, however do show signs of age related wear and tear. The formica edging around the table is in good order with just a few chips and nibbles, the table top has been cleaned and polished but does show surface scratches along with a couple of faded areas and marks, however the formica is still a good colour of red, there is a black swirl in the pattern, one of our photos shows this. The three brass hinges on each leaf look a little rusty but work perfectly and have been cleaned and oiled, functioning as they should. The side leaves are firm and straight when fully extended. The leaves open up independently to create a larger table and sit on sliding wooden supports (similar to the Ercol tables). Underneath the table is the original label and makers name “Guildform “ and is stamped 1953 which makes it almost 70 years old !

Great as a desk as well as a dining table, and when extended could easily seat 4, even six at a push- add a retro stool or two!

These tables work great in coffee shops and small restaurants, handy and space saving, also practical with a wipe clean surface suitable for kids.

Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
