Vintage Ercol Lounge Armchair - A Pair Available

Ercol was founded in 1920 by a young Italian immigrant, Lucian Ercolani, whose simple goal was to make furniture that was well designed and made in a good working environment by craftsmen who really took pride in their jobs. Design has always been at the heart of Ercol - design for comfort, design for function, design for beauty, combining practicality with looks.

This vintage armchair (we think is Model No 352 ) with round stick backs is made of dark solid elm. Boasting the distinctive Ercol silhouette and quality workmanship associated with the famed factory in High Wycombe, this chair has only needed minimal restoration; just cleaned and degreased before re-oiling with a dark coloured oil (this helps blend any chips, scratches and scuffed areas) then waxed and buffed. The arms on this chair has lost most of the original lacquer but the coloured oil and wax have helped blend and buff to a good shine and colour as well as offering future protection.

There are a few marks visible on the beech frame commensurate with the age and use of this classic, yet contemporary, chair, as shown in the photos. There is no evidence of any repairs and the chair is solid and sturdy, all joints are good. The cushions are in good condition and still plump, the fabric has at some point been replaced in a mid grey linen type fabric, these do show signs of use, some bobbling on the top cushion and the also on the base cushion at the front, the zips are all in good order and the webbing underneath is in excellent condition, again this has probably been replaced. We have steam cleaned the cushions to freshen.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, kerbside to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
