A 70s Pair of Orange & Chrome Dining Chairs

This pair of kitchen/dining/desk chairs tick all the Mid Century boxes. Beautifully designed and made, and functional too! Added to that, they stack, and are very comfy...what more could you want?!

Made from plywood with a steam bent back/base, a chrome frame and (most likely) original mustard/orange leatherette/vinyl, this pair of chairs are a vintage must have for any Mid-Century style interior. Their style and comfort could also make them suitable as home office chairs.

The chairs have been thoroughly cleaned, degreased and re polished. They are in good solid vintage condition, the seat back and base are still plump and stitching is all intact. Commensurate with age/use, there are a few chips to the backs on the plywood and a couple of tiny nicks to the vinyl, but nothing major and hardly visible. The chrome frame is in good condition with only light surface scratches and the odd rust spot mainly underneath. We have shown the small amount of damage in our photos. If you were to stack the chairs for a long period of time, it would probably be advisable to put a piece of cardboard between the chrome cross bar to protect any indentation on the leatherette seat.

Whilst no branding or maker’s marks are to be found on the chairs, a price tag and furniture seller label still remains; to be clear this is not what we are asking for the chairs ! Whilst researching the chairs names such as Dancer & Hearne, Parker Knoll and references to their shape throw up Fritz Hansen and designs by Arne Jacobsen. And how could we not mention iconic designs from Charles and Ray Eames who used steam bent plywood for their chairs.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, kerbside to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
