R Bennet designed for G Plan from the late 1960s and is credited with the design of the iconic “Quadrille” and “Form Five” furniture ranges.
The quadrille style, widely regarded as one of the best designs of its era, has experienced a recent revival and has again become the height of fashion, the sculptured curves in warm teak with afromosia wood, geometric boxed style legs and simple sleek teak tops make it on point in current interior trends.
These multifunctional tables can be kept as a nest, used to create a stylish silhouette or used around the house as plant tables, side tables, bedsides and are even a perfect height for small children to join in with this mid century madness.
This set has been cleaned, lightly sanded and re oiled - this both enhances and protects the wood, ready for many more years of use. The tables are pre owned and vintage, so have some slight imperfections, the most obvious being there are only 2 NOT 3 in this nest, along with light surface scratches ( mainly to the top table ). The tables are the largest of the nest and the middle, the smallest tables is missing. There is evidence of historical repairs in the form of glueing of joints - this is all good and the tables are solid and sturdy.
Rather than buying new and allowing this modern antique to go into landfill, think how it might fit in and enhance your modern home?
