A Complete Retro Mid Century Kitchen/Dining Set - 2 x stools 2 x chairs and extending table.

I have absolutely loved putting this set together; it’s very satisfying when a room set comes together!

This listing is for a complete retro kitchen dining set, two stools by Centra, two Quitmann style chairs and an extending hardwood table with formica top and black painted leg. All these pieces have undergone a thorough degrease, clean, sand, oil and wax. The stools and chairs have both been reupholstered, the stools in my favourite bee print vinyl and the chairs in the classic black. To marry all five pieces together I’ve painted one leg of the table in Rustoleum’s liquorice black.

A staple of many homes back in the Mid 20th Century, formica topped tables were practical, stylish and the smooth, glossy surface was designed for easy cleaning. Back in the 50s, 60s and 70s these tables would have probably been accompanied with a set of similar chairs and/or stools of this type.

Able to fold away, this formica teak effect grained compact table is perfect for those who don’t have much dining space; the two folding leaves have a wooden sliding bar making them very solid and secure in operation, each extending leaf able to work independently, yet easy to re-fold. The table is in good vintage condition with only age related marks expected from use throughout the years.

These tables cannot only be used as a breakfast/dining table but useful as a desk space if working from home and an extremely practical choice of work space for children, eating or crafting!

The UK throws away around 1.6 million tonnes of furniture and bulky waste each year, most of which ends up in landfill. Reusing what has already been (well) made makes ever more sense ! Hopefully you can see how fabulous second hand furniture can look and fit into the modern home?
