MCM Mini Astro Style Teak and Smoked Glass Coffee Table with Magazine Rack

One of V.B. Wilkins most iconic and successful designs from G Plan, as well as one of the most collectable, is the Astro coffee table - we think this is best described as a mini version!

Designer and maker unknown as no labels remain, most similar in design and materials would be Schreiber, but this is teak and teak veneers, not formica. Dating from around the 70s, this is a really cute compact coffee table, solid and sturdy, the original smoked glass top has only light surface scratches- no chips or cracks. There is extra storage below with the addition of a magazine rack or plant/display shelf.

Not seen one this small before, but I’m sure would make a big impact in the more beju modern homes and apartments!

Degreased and lightly sanded, the woods have been re oiled to enhance and protect. With a practical wipe clean glass top and shelf below, this is a great, perhaps rare, mid century compact coffee table!
