A Pair of Ercol 365 A Carver Chairs Blue Label circa 1960s

A perfect addition to any home, these Kitchen/dining/desk chairs complement both traditional and contemporary decor. An evolution of the Windsor design, these chairs present a tall u-shaped, six spindle back and sculpted oval seat for a supportive sit.  The chair bow is steam bent from a single straight ash rail into this amazingly tight radius bend and then sanded and shaped to give its subtle and elegant profile.

Traditional wedge joints, where the legs come right through the seat and a wedge is then inserted into a cut, before the leg stump is hand sanded flush with the seat, both provide a lovely design detail and a very strong joint.  Further strength is provided by the H-underframe.

This pair of chairs are Model No 365 A, they are carvers and match the other pair we have listed which do not have arms.

The iconic style of these chairs has stood the test of time and, being Ercol, are now an investment antique for the future. With their subtle, yet exaggerated, shape and streamlined legs they are so typical of the mid century era and of the Ercol company itself; style and sophistication in perfect unison.

In good condition, these vintage chairs are sound and sturdy, with wear consummate with age, most of this wear is the rubbing off of the dark colouring around the hooped frame, scratches and scuffs to the legs arms and base of the spindles. (This we have discovered comes from having keys in your back pocket!). We have cleaned and degreased both chairs and have then applied a couple of coats of a dark coloured wood oil to nourish and help blend the scratches and scuffs acquired over their lifetime; this, we feel, only enhances the natural original patina and colouring. Only part of the Ercol stickers remain unfortunately but they still have the studs underneath if you wish to secure cushions.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
 
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
