This is one of V.B. Wilkins most iconic and successful designs from G Plan’s Fresco range, as well as one of the most collectible. Dating from around 1969, this was made both in round and oval shapes. Known as the ‘Astro’ - not by G Plan but by dealers and collectors, the same term being used for the description of another circular table now named the G Plan ‘Spider’.
The table came to us in a terrible, over-varnished, condition; having degreased and sanded it, only the aframosia teak frame was worth keeping. So we painted the top in a deep ocean blue, with several coats of paint and a polyvine varnish to help protect and waterproof and it’s now ready to grace any mid century G Plan collector’s home.
The coffee table is in good solid sturdy vintage condition but does show signs of age and usage. The glass has no chips or cracks and only light surface scratches. The teak frame has been cleaned and degreased and a teak oil applied to reveal the beautiful grain, offering protection and giving nourishment to the wood.
We also have in stock at the time of this listing a compact G Plan Media/Drinks cabinet painted in the same ocean blue. We have shown this in some of the photos, it is listed separately but if you are interested in purchasing both, message us and we will give you a discounted delivered price for both!
Our furniture pieces are pre-owned and, where possible, kept in original condition; where necessary, we repair and/or restyle to suit the modern home. As with anything old, they may come with small imperfections, but we hope you will enjoy their character and individuality as much as we do.
A light dust with a damp lint-free cloth is the best way to care for our furniture. As with any wooden furniture - we recommend you use a coaster - hot drinks and wet rings leave marks. All our furniture has been finished and protected with oils and/or wax or a clear varnish. It’s pretty hardy but it’s not bomb proof, so please respect it as you would any other piece to keep it at its best.

Our Delivery Policy
Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
When ordering, please supply us with your mobile phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as access, parking restrictions, congestion charge etc.).
Please note that if we are unable to deliver on a pre-arranged day, you will be charged a flat fee of £50 for re-delivery.
