A Nest of Two G Plan Fake End Coffee Tables

Sorry, this item has sold.

R Bennet designed for G Plan from the late 1960s and is credited with the design of the iconic “quadrille” furniture ranges.

So there’s no mistaking this nest of only 2 tables you might think; however the story is that these are genuine “fakes” copied from plans and crafted by a cabinet maker using the same materials for his family back in the 70s - making only 2 because that’s all that was needed!

To be honest without the story I would have struggled to tell the difference except they are slightly heavier than the G Plan version.

The quadrille style, widely regarded as one of the best designs in its era, has experienced a recent revival and has again become the height of fashion, the sculptured curves in warm teak with afromosia wood, geometric boxed style legs and simple sleek teak tops make it on point in current interior trends.

These multifunctional tables can be kept as a nest, used to create a stylish silhouette or used around the house as plant tables, side tables, bedsides an even a perfect height for small children to join in with this mid century madness.

This set has been cleaned, degreased, lightly sanded and re oiled - this helps enhance and further protect the woods and veneers. The tables are sturdy and stable but they are pre owned and vintage, so will show some slight imperfections - please see photos.

Only one set ever made so grab yourself an original G Plan “Fake” !
