An original set of four kitchen/dining/office chairs of Mid Century design and quality, possibly by Meredew from the 1960/70s. The chairs still have what is possibly their original champagne velour fabric which has no rips, nicks or tears, but unfortunately a green felt tip mark on one. The teak wooden frame has been cleaned, oiled and polished, but does show signs of wear on the legs and to the backrest upright. The design is wonderful and the sitting position is superbly comfortable; each chair is fit for purpose, giving comfort and style, perfect and affordable for that mid century dining experience for today’s collectors.
A bit about the manufacturer-:
Having been in business since the 19th Century, Meredew embraced modernism in the 1950s and produced furniture that epitomised that era. Originally from London then moved out to Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire, a smaller company than G Plan and of a similar size to McIntosh, research tells me that they perhaps made furniture unbranded for larger retailers. They employed a German designer and had a well known Italian designer working on some of their furniture designs.
The UK throws away around 1.6 million tonnes of furniture and bulky waste each year, most of which ends up in landfill. Reusing what has already been (well) made makes ever more sense !
Please remember to look carefully at our photos, we try to give a good representation of the condition of our furniture in both our images and description. Vintage items have all had a previous life and in most cases the condition will show signs of age with wear and tear, including scuffs and scratches, commensurate with age. Please ask if you would like more images or further information.
Whilst we have kept these chairs original we are also able to reupholster if required at an appropriate cost of £80 depending on fabric choices, just message beforehand with any questions and a custom order can be created.

Our Delivery Policy
Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers, or for low value items - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
When ordering, please supply us with your mobile phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as access, parking restrictions etc.).
Please note that if we are unable to deliver on a pre-arranged day, you will be charged a flat fee of £50 for re-delivery.
