A Fabulous Fake G Plan Teak Mini Media Storage Credenza

This truly is a “fabulous G Plan fake” and a stunning example of mid century design.

We acquired this from the house of a retired cabinet maker (now sadly passed away) who copied this from a contemporary G Plan Media cabinet back in the 1970s, making it from scratch with the personal addition of three drawers, not a combination I’d seen before!

This carefully made piece is based loosely upon the G Plan Media Unit, with two sliding door and fixed dividers for vinyl storage, the beautifully configured teak grains complementing the copied signature G Plan Design. Even features such as the carved inlaid handles and exquisitely carved legs are all strikingly similar to G Plan’s original designs. Arguably, this piece could be even better than the original upon which it is based, as I’m fairly sure it’s solid teak (rather than the hardwood and teak veneers of the original).

This is a beautifully made unique piece with plenty of storage for organising your vinyl, quality craftsmanship with a great history. There is a slight dark patch to the top and a chip to one side but hardly any other damage to report - please study our photos. As previously explained, there’s no G Plan sticker but certainly nothing to disappoint with this fabulous fake!

The Media Cabinet has been kept in fantastic condition by its maker, so no restoration work was required. The piece has been nourished with a combination of oils and waxes to revive and enhance the original finish. The top of this unit has the addition of a piece of toughened glass which fits snuggly on top - this will give extra protection to the surface.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers, or for low value items - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
