A Vintage Pair of Nathan Coffee/Side/Lamp/End/Bedside Tables

This matching pair of teak Nathan low table are definitely the best I’ve seen, with only light surface scratches (hardly visible in the photos), they would super stylish in any modern home living space, maybe a work reception area or restaurant coffee shop environment. They would also work as bedside tables as well as lamp and coffee tables. We’ve even shown it with a record player, super versatile and a real retro quality piece of furniture giving that Danish style from a British manufacturer.

These tables are made from solid teak ( so quite heavy!) with gorgeous warm teak veneer tops, the legs are removable.

We acquired these from the same home and had been bought at the same time - they are still a matching pair and are the same in colouring and have obviously been been looked after as well as used over the years. With no wobbles and in fabulous vintage condition this pair are ready to go; please note we are selling these as a pair, if it’s only one your looking for check our other listings or message us as we are more than likely will have another table option in stock.

We have cleaned and degreased, enhancing the refurbishment with an application of Danish oil. Almost certainly manufactured around the 70s out of Burmese teak (rather exotic in its day), the colour is a mellow medium light teak. The cuts of timber would have been carefully chosen to accentuate the wood and highlight the grain. Only the very best materials would have been used in making it in this period.

Nathan Furniture is an enduring British company with a proud history. It has consistently offered elegant designs and quality craftsmanship, using a combination of solid wood and natural veneers meaning that no two pieces are the same, the natural beauty of the grain and tone are also showcased in every piece, big or small!

In 1916 Russian born Barnett Nathan began to manufacture handcrafted pieces of furniture from a workshop in Hackney Road, East London. The early years were tough ones. With the ongoing event of WWI, the firm opted to supplement its income by manufacturing munitions boxes for the Government. In 1963 the company made the decision to focus on the highly desirable Scandinavian style, teak furniture which was simple, elegant and functional. It was a nationwide success and has influenced the design aesthetic of the company since.

In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, kerbside to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Exclusions to free delivery apply, including where tolls or congestion zone fees apply, for which there will be an additional charge. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
