A fine example of a vintage dressing table designed by E Gomme for G Plan as part of their Brandon range of furniture which this was launched in 1953; the designer of this range was Victor Bramwell Wilkins.
It features two spacious drawers and a top surface large enough for all manner of perfumes, lotions and powders. The mirror can be angled back and forth to get the perfect angle; the mirror and its supports can also be removed to leave you with a neat chest of drawers. We have added a chain to the back of the mirror so it can be hung independently on a wall above the drawers or elsewhere.
In a light oak veneer finish with solid oak handles, this is a refreshing change from the darker, more masculine-looking teak that came into fashion from the 1960’s onwards.
This has been kept original and is in overall good, used vintage condition. We have cleaned and degreased this piece, applied several coats of oil and a final wax polish to enhance and protect the woods and veneers. It features two spacious drawers which are clean and run well, with the top drawer still bearing the original E Gomme G-Plan Gold stamp.
As you would expect from G Plan, it’s a very well made piece and is solid and sturdy, with only wear as expected from a vintage piece, the worst being a chip to the veneer on the front edge and to one side edge; there is a light fading to the top surface and some scratches (please see photos) but nothing specific to call out.

Our Delivery Policy
Safely delivering items you purchase in a timely fashion is both our priority and also one of the most challenging aspects of our business.
In most circumstances, we offer free hand delivery, contact-free, to most mainland UK addresses, either by ourselves or via our dedicated, trusted, couriers. This ensures that your purchases arrive in exactly the condition they were in when you purchased them, as accurately described on our site. You should expect delivery to be within 1 to 3 weeks of you placing the order. We will contact you directly with a firm delivery date and advise you in advance of a two hour delivery window. Free delivery does not apply to areas of mainland UK not covered by our trusted couriers - if this applies to your purchase, we will simply charge you what we are charged for delivery, less any Etsy fees, and notify you of this as soon a practicable after the sale goes through, giving you the option of a full refund.
We are able to package and export items beyond mainland UK and have done so as far afield as Hong Kong and New Zealand. We regularly export to Northern Ireland and Eire and the majority of Europe. Please contact us directly for a tailored quotation.
When ordering, please supply us with your mobile phone number, so we may liaise directly with you regarding delivery. Please advise if there are any delivery restrictions that will apply (such as access, parking restrictions etc.).
Please note that if we are unable to deliver on a pre-arranged day, you will be charged a flat fee of £50 for re-delivery.
